An evergreen shrub that grows to a height of 2m and produces large, grayish leaves that are oval in shape. The lavender flowers turn white with age. This shrub prefers rich, well drained soils in a protected sunny position.

It becomes semi-deciduous in cooler climates and is drought and frost tender.
