Blueberry Ash Elaeocarpus Reticulatus is an evergreen, Australian native tree with attractive glossy, dark green foliage. It produces small, bell-shaped, cream or white, fragrant flowers in spring and summer. Its most distinctive feature is the blue to purple, berry-like fruits, resembling blueberries, which is where is gets the name ‘Blueberry Ash’.

Widely used as a feature tree, Blueberry Ash Elaeocarpus Reticulatus is a favourite with local councils and landscapers.

Note: This is not an edible Blueberry tree.

 

CARE AND GROWTH:

Blueberry Ash Elaeocarpus Reticulatus prefers full sun to partial shade. It generally thrives in well-lit conditions but can tolerate some shade. A well-draining soil is essential for optimal growth but it can adapt to various soil types, including sandy and clay soils.

Water regularly, especially during dry periods. It appreciates consistent moisture but is relatively drought-tolerant once established. After planting, a plant’s establishment period is typically around 12 weeks. Increase watering on hot and windy days to prevent it drying out.

Feed with a slow-release fertiliser in spring and prune to shape it and remove dead or damaged branches. Pruning will also help maintain a more compact form.
