Sedum ‘Tokyo Sun’ is a vibrant, hardy, succulent groundcover known for its bright yellow-green foliage. It adds a splash of color to gardens throughout the growing season and prefers full sun exposure which intensifies its colours.
Native to Japan, Sedum ‘Tokyo Sun’ typically grows to about 10 to 15 cm tall and spreads to form a mat approximately 30 to 45 cm wide. Its low, spreading habit makes it an excellent groundcover that stays relatively compact while covering a good area. It makes an excellent groundcover, spreading quickly to control erosion and suppress weeds in sunny, well-drained areas. It’s perfect for rock gardens, borders, and edging, adding vibrant color and texture.
This drought-tolerant plant is also popular in container gardens and mixed succulent arrangements, as well as on green roofs due to its shallow roots and minimal water needs. Sedum ‘Tokyo Sun’ also attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies when it blooms, making it a valuable addition to pollinator-friendly gardens
