COMMON NAME: GRASS TREE, BLACK BOY, XANTHORRHOEA
Trunk Size: 51cm to 60cm
Previously known as the Black Boy Tree, this is an unusual and long lived evergreen tree which has a short, rough trunk and a stiff, narrow arching green leaves that are roughly between 60 to 90cm long.
During spring, the Grass Tree may develop a tall and central spike with small white flowers. The Grass Tree makes for an ideal feature tree for native gardens, shrubberies or simply grown in decorative pots.
Must be planted in a well-drained soil under full sun. The Grass Tree can tolerate dry weather and frost, avoid excessive fertiliser.
