COMMON NAME: BIRD OF PARADISE, STRELITZIA REGINAE

Best known as the Bird of Paradise, the name which is derived from it’s spiky orange and blue flowers. They resemble exotic birds perched on the end of the long flower stalks. The flowers look spectacular, rising high above the greyish green banana shaped leaves.
They make great garden choices as feature plants, if you are after a sensational tropical look. They can also work nicely in decorative pots. They are hardy plants but remember to water as soon as you plant them until they become established.
