Strelitzia Nicolai is an ornamental evergreen, tall, palm like plant with large, broad leaves that grow up to 1.5m long.

Best known as the Bird of Paradise, the name which is derived from its spiky white and blue flowers which resemble exotic birds perched on the end of the long flower stalks.

They make great garden choices as feature plants, if you are after a sensational tropical look. They can also work nicely in decorative pots. They are hardy plants but remember to water as soon as you plant them, until they become established.
