Cycas revoluta is easily the best known and most popular cycad in the world. This symmetrical plant supports a ring of glossy, dark green leaves on a thick trunk. Used as a feature, it grows best in sandy, well-drained soil, preferably with some organic matter. It is quite drought-tolerant and grows well in full sun or part shade, but does need bright light when grown indoors.
