This callistemon bottlebrush is known for its compact growth which reaches about 1.75m in height and its vivid red foliage which shoots out through spring. Due to this compact growth Callistemon Great Balls of Fire is an ideal evergreen hedging plant that can be pruned to 1.2m tall by 1m wide forming a nice compact hedge.
Grows best in well-drained soils, including sandy soils. It is tolerant of minor frost, but new growth may freeze back. Prune about 3 to 4 times a year to maintain the dense, compact form along with its colourful growth. Water weekly during Summer, prefers a full sun position.
