Sometimes known as the elephant’s foot tree, this slow growing evergreen tree has a palm-like trunk with a massive, swollen base, which may reach up to 3 meters in diameter. It bears lots of white flowers which bloom in summer, followed by brilliant stems of pinkish, 3 winged seeds on the mature female plants. It is best used as a feature plant, indoors or on a balcony in container pots are perfect for the ponytail palm. It can also be grown as a novelty plant.
